Autumn concludes the gardening season but is also the most beautiful season in terms of colours. It gets cooler outside, the leaves fall from the trees and we spend more time indoors again. Then, of course, you make it cosy inside with one or more bouquets of beautiful autumn flowers. Bouquets in warm colours are bought the most during autumn. Exactly the same brown and red colours you see outside reinforce the cosy feeling inside. Seasonal flowers come in all sorts of charming colours. A bouquet gets just that little bit extra with some late-flowering grasses in it as an accent, such as pampas grass or marsh reeds or a branch with oak leaves or skimmia.

Autumn flowers make it cosy inside
Dahlias are true flowers of this season and wonderful to incorporate into autumn bouquets. They are radiant flowers that can be bought in a variety of pretty colours. An autumn without chrysanthemums is also unthinkable. The flower had an old-fashioned image, but that is changing in recent years with the expansion of the range and colours. Besides the rose, autumn chrysanthemums are now among the most important cut flowers in the Netherlands.

Eye-catchers in autumn
Hydrangeas are familiar to everyone. The large flowers with a diameter of about twenty-five centimetres are absolute eye-catchers. One or more branches of the cut hydrangea are very stylish in a bouquet. Another eye-catching flower is bouvardia. You can enjoy bouvardia in a vase for a long time if you cut all the stems diagonally with a sharp knife.

Striking autumn flowers
Other flowers that take centre stage during autumn are the scabiosa, which was originally purple in colour but now also comes in light blue and white shades. A scabiosa is similar to a slender cheerful field flower. The crocosmia is also striking with yellow, orange or red flowers. It comes in both small- and large-flowered versions and there are also bicoloured flowers. After flowering, the fruits appear. We use these highly decorative berries a lot in stylish autumn bouquets. But the sword-shaped leaves are also very beautiful. Wonderful is also the orchid, which can stand for about three weeks as a cut flower. Avoid direct sunlight on the flowers, give the vase a cool place and cut one centimetre off the stem.

We will send a bouquet of autumn flowers whenever you want! Our assortment page shows all seasonal flowers.
